Many manufacturers face the challenge of ensuring the right information such as master data information - new products, promotions, pricing changes – to shipping notifications reaches the right people at the right time across a multi-site distribution network.
Among the obstacles are:
- Manual processes of information extraction and dissemination to the distributors. For instance, sending the right information to the right distributor via email is a time consuming process and all distributors are sent the same information and are expected to sift through the email to extract information relevant to them.
- Manual process of importing information into the systems at the distribution centres that requires human intervention.
- An automated process that still expects certain information to be filled by the distributor and does not verify which information is required.
- An automated process that does not inform distributors when data is updated and requires their input.
The LUCIA Way
When creating SKUs in the LUCIA BI control panel, the individual sites that are to receive the SKU can be defined. Moreover the pricing and relevant promotions that should be applied at each site can be customised.
Centralised master data management
LUCIA BI control panel allows for central management of master data as well as filtering for individual sites. Data can be overridden on a per site basis, ensuring that each site gets the data in a manner that is most accurate for them.
Guided data sync process (available when using LUCIA DM)
With LUCIA DM, the distributor is provided notification of new available information such as new SKUs and shipment details. The system automatically detects the availability of new information and downloads it for loading. Users are also guided through the synchronisation process when input is required from them or when existing information is being updated.
